I am offering my Classic 80mm Towa 339 Achromatic Refractor Astronomical Telescope sitting atop the original German Equatorial mount on a superbly refinished/RESTORED tripod. With an objective lens of 80mm and a focal length of 1200 mm this vintage achromat is a marvelous example of a "long focus" f/15 refractor. The tripod has the original rubber feet and the rack and pinion micro focusing wheels are metal, not plastic, indicating this telescope was manufactured during the Golden Age of Japanese optical fabrication perfection. This kit does not include the cabinet.
The tripod accessory shelf is secured with knurled brass knuts and includes an operational tray light with a red bulb and the black battery tube which is rare. I have cleaned and re-lubricated the mount which has the original Right Ascension motor gear intact so if you can find an original Towa drive motor it will fit. The long flexible slow monition cables are also included.
The 6mm x 30mm cross hair sighting scope is in excellent shape with clear optics and cross hairs intact.
The 80mm objective is in excellent condition as the photograph indicates and has so little dust it doesn't even warren cleaning.
The .965 inch eyepieces include a HM 9mm, a HM 12.5mm and a KE 22mm and all three are in cases. The Barlow is a Vixen 2X and of course the erecting prism is also included. This outfit has a Sun projection screen, a Moon Filter, Sun Filter (do not use the sun filter), along with a Blue Fire Ball .965 to 1.25" adapter which incorporates a compression ring so you can use your inch and a quarter eyepieces in this classic long focus refractor. Also included is a 1.25" mirror diagonal that fits in the .965 focus tube. This classic vintage Telescope is presented for the discerning observational amateur astronomer who understands the benefits of long focus refractor viewing and the nostalgia of a bygone era.
