Still thinning the herd. I have gone back and forth on this one for 2 years for reasons I will explain. I have just decided I do not need to Orange C8s. I am selling my 1981 C8 OTA w Special Coatings SN 812490. I have had this for about 15 years. When I got it it was panted some weird colors. I took it apart (not rocket science contrary to what some think) and repainted it. Cast Iron manifold paint perfectly matches the orignal cell color. I used a hammer paint to get the pebble look (a little more then compared to orignal) and an orange that comes very close to orignal. You can see a pic below of of both scopes together . Hard to tell but the orange is a little brighter but more then close enough. The only reason I am keeping the other on (which is a 1980) is that it is complete with everything. The one I am selling is just the OTA and when collimated is very sharp and has really good contrast. Better then later black tubes I tried. Compared to a MN 61 Mak newt I had years ago. Just as sharp but less 3 D. In really nice shape overall. Keep in mind it is a 45 year of old tube but an 8.5 out of 10. Non of the glass has been cleaned in a while so I am sure somebody can find something. Includes OTA with front cover(an earlier cover with knob) CG 5 /Vixen rail, 6x30 finder with caps (tight fit and one crosshair is sagging) , and a 2 inch visual back. As I write this I keep thinking this one is more personal as I restored it and have had it a long time but having 2 makes no sense. Asking $325?? Plus shipping. Thanks Check my 26 years of feedback on various sites.
