Celestron C8 with trunk, working trunk lock, and key.
Scope is clean. Corrector has Special Coatings. Includes 6x30 finder.
From my research, the serial number (802328) is indicative of a likely production date around early, but no later than, mid-1979. Finder optics and crosshairs are clear and excellent respectively. Includes 1.25" visual back.
In 1984 I purchased the personal C8 formerly owned by the director of Houston's Burke Baker Planetarium (NOT this telescope). I kept that scope for well over a decade, but the optics in this C8 are better.
A bit of minor paint loss on the finder in the expected areas from the set screws and on the rear gray back plate (just under the finder as shown in one of the photos). Focusing is smooth with no issues. No cord. No dents or scratches on the tube. Footlocker trunk shows oxidation on the metal extrusions (edge and corner protectors), but the trunk is in overall respectable and decent condition for its age (about 46 years).
PayPal is preferred and I'll absorb the fee. I'm more than willing to negotiate with local or semi-local buyers (SE Texas) for a discount on the price if I don't have to ship it.
Thanks for looking.
