I am selling a Celestron C8 XLT telescope purchased new in 2022. It is in excellent condition. I am only selling it because I recently upgraded to the C8 Edge_HD.
I have used this C8 for visual astronomy and imaging at native focal length for planets (F/10), with the reducer for DSO’s (F/6.3) and with a Hyperstar IV for wider field DSO’s (F/1.9).
It comes with a 0.63 reducer, as well as the accessories included with the scope at the time of purchase (6 x 30 finderscope, 25mm eyepiece, star diagonal, 1.25” visual back).
The collimation screws have been replaced with Bob’s Knobs.
There is a very thin scratch (less than 1/2 in.) on the right hand side of the corrector plate that is quite hard to see (I could not photograph it) and makes absolutely no difference to visual observation or imaging. It was quite possibly there when new.
I replaced one of the pegs that hold the lens cap in place after it came loose. I used a replacement part sent from Celestron.
The price is $800 for the scope, .63 reducer and accessories (retail price is $1600). I use PayPal. Buyer pays shipping.
I will be using the packaging that came with the C8 Edge_HD to ship the scope securely.
