For sale is a Meade 8-inch f/10 Advanced Coma-Free optical tube assembly originally from a LightSwitch telescope. The original mount and alignment-camera system have been removed, converting it into a conventional OTA ready for use on an equatorial or alt-azimuth mount.
A machinist fabricated the aluminum adapter blocks that attach the included Vixen-style dovetail rail to the front and rear cells. The mounting arrangement is solid and has worked well in actual use.
The corrector plate, primary mirror, and UHTC coatings are in good condition. The tube shows light cosmetic wear, including some scuffs and marks on the front and rear castings (visible in the photos).
The former LightSwitch camera recess and mounting studs remain on the rear cell. I left them in place because they may serve as a useful mounting point for an ASIAIR, mini PC, or other accessory.
The optics are very good and produce a clean star test. This was my primary visual telescope while my 11-inch SCT was dedicated to astrophotography.

Meade’s ACF design provides a flatter field with reduced off-axis coma compared with a conventional Schmidt-Cassegrain. This would make an excellent compact visual telescope, planetary-imaging OTA, or deep-sky imaging scope for use with a smaller sensor.
