This listing is for one Meade ETX-125EC with GOTO capability and the following:
Audiostar hand controller (not to be confused with the older Autostar) in Mint condition. Provides audio "Tourguide" capability.
Motorized focuser
Red Dot Finder
Level North Technology feature (self levels and aligns with North Pole)
Meade Camera Adapter
Meade Ocular
Operating Manual
Wall transformer power supply
Connectivity to a PC over RS232 serial data link (through the Audiostar hand controller) to connect to Planetarium Software like Stellarium (Freeware)
This telescope functions well and can be fitted with a CCD Camera with included Meade adapter. The Meade camera adapter has removable spacers to set the back focus to a particular camera.
The LNT function allows the controller handpad to set up the telescope for easy alignment as well as keeping real time time and date (battery backup). The CR2032 battery was replaced with a fresh one.
For all intents and purposes this telescope is functionally equivalent to a Meade ETX-125PE or Premier version.
We significantly beefed up the four mounting points between the OTA and the fork.
Pictures show rear camera port without and with Meade camera adapter.
Now for the nitty gritty about the optics. This telescope was delivered to us a few years ago as a used telescope but arrived damaged. Turns out the Seller was not familiar with handling optics and packaged with telescope poorly. As if that wasn't enough somehow the Primary Mirror slid off the center baffle tube and struck the Corrector Plate and secondary baffle cone (the focuser bolt unthreaded when the drive spur gear fell off). We carefully removed the corrector plate (after marking the orientation with respect to the primary) and cleaned off the inside of the secondary with a Collodion which is marvelous at removing debris from optical surfaces and leaves no residue. We did the same for the Primary Mirror and whilst not pristine doesn't look half bad (wish I could say the same for myself). The Corrector plate is for all intents and purposes as good as new and certainly functional as new. The Primary Mirror has most of the damage around the rim and some sleeks on the surface - worst case these blems will ever so slightly affect image contrast if at all. We also replaced the Dec knobs with 3d Printed ones as well as a 3D printed cover. We have supplied copious images of the corrector and Primary Mirror for prospective buyer's perusal.
Reasonable offers will be seriously considered.
Thanks for looking!
