Orion Apex 127mm Maksutov OTA + Many Accessories
I am selling my beloved Orion Apex 127mm 1540mm FL f12.1 Makustov-Cassegrain) OTA and accesories. This scope has accompanied me on many solar eclipse viewing trips around the world since 2012. The optics are very sharp and this scope excels at lunar and planetary viewing. The focal ratio is a bit long for deep sky viewing, but I've still gotten satisfying views of the brighter deep sky objects from dark locations.
Included with the scope: right-angle diagonal, 10x50 erect-image finderscope, four Orion Sirius Plossl eyepieces (10, 17, 25, 40mm), and 2x barlow, all 1.25" size. Also included (not pictured) is an Astromania wrap-around dew shield. I have moved the finderscope attachment to the opposite side of the OTA from its original position, for compatibility with Celestron mounts; you can probably move it back (it's just epoxied in place).
The original carry bag is included. Please note the strap has come loose, and the four rubber feet on the bottom of the bag are missing. This is all probably sewable/repairable/replaceable. The optics and the accessories are in tip-top condition.
I'm asking $300 for all this gear. I will ship anywhere in the continental USA; buyer pays shipping. If you are located in the San Francisco bay area, in person pickup is also possible.
I also have an Orion StarSeeker IV mount, in near-perfect condition, listed separately for $250. If you would like the mount and this Apex 127 together, I will discount the mount by $50 (so $500 total for both OTA and mount instead of $550).
