This lightweight (6.3 lbs) mirror blank was cast from Ohara E6 borosilicate glass at the Richard F. Caris Mirror Lab by myself and a few coworkers (we cast several at the time) in the early 2000s. The lightweighting is loosely patterned after the 200" Hale telescope mirror with the cassegrain hole removed in the design phase.  The blank is approximately  10+" in diameter and 1 1/2" thick. The faceplate is approximately 1/2" thick. There is a slight chip at the outer edge of the blank which extends about 3/16" in from the outer edge and about .230" down from the faceplate. Much of this chip would likey disappear during generating and if the blank was radiused the chip could essentially be ground away in those processes. The resulting usable aperture might be something like 9 5/8".
