20" Swayze DOB Mirror and Misc DOB Parts

Our club acquired these 20" DOB parts with the intention of building a new 20" DOB scope. In discussion during a couple of meetings, it was decided that we were not really up to the task and we already have a 14" DOB so what was really the point.

The parts that we have, came for a previously built scope. To rebuild the scope, a new box etc would need to be built.

So it was decided that we sell the parts that we have for another groups or individual's project.

The main attraction here is the 20" Swayze mirror. It's in good to excellent condition. There are a few small blemishes but nothing that would subtract from it's performance. It does not need to be recoated even though it has a little age on it. Please see the original purchase receipt in the images for the mirror details.

We started the rebuild process so the cage has been disasembled but all the parts are there to put it back together. No focuser.

The other parts are shown in the images. We have the parts for the cage, the mirror, the support rods, the mirror frame (support), Obsession rotators and the secondary mirror.

The parts were stored for a while so they are a little dusty.

In doing some research, we have found that the mirror is worth (estimates) about $2000. As far as the rest, maybe $300. So our asking price is $2300.

We would like to sell this as a package and not part it out. Because of the weight, shipping is not an option, so local pickup is a must.

Reasonable offer's will certainly be entertained. We are basically selling the mirror and the rest of the parts go along with it.
