binocular head that I picked up years ago intending to make a binocular solar telescope.

Too many projects and this one goes. It's in good optical conditon with no chips or fungus; appears to be properly collimated. As it's a standard microscope part it uses the smaller size 23mm eyepieces (.09"). No eyepieces are included; both eyepiece holders are focusing mounts. The eyepiece holders adjust for interpupillary distance.

Incoming port appears to have a clear aperature of about 3/4". It appears to be strictly a prismatic assembly with no transfer lenses as looking through it without eyepieces shows a clear erect view that is correct left to right. It angles the incoming light path so it should be a comfortable viewing angle in a simple alt-azumith mount.

Some chips and scratches in the paint but no corrosion or moisture damage.

Rather heavy but it should fit in a standard Priority Mail box. Don't have an accurate scale but it's about 1lb. 11 oz so it's probably made of brass.
