I took those pictures with an iphone 6 just holding it to the eyepiece! This telescope is insanely cool, and with a massive 16” mirror your going to gather a huge 72 % more light compared to a 12”. This scope is going to give you the best images of space, you’re going to get for the money.
With telescopes Aperture rules and i can’t tell you how crazy it was to see the ice caps on mars, the red spot on Jupiter and it’s moons, looking through the black space between the rings of Saturn, and seeing your first Nebula all with your own eyes.

This scope is absolutely amazing and i have loved every single time I used it, but i’m moving to australia and i’m not taking it with me. They are becoming very difficult to come by due to Covid and Meade filing for bankruptcy, so this scope is becoming more and more rare.

Dobsonian mirror scopes typically come with protected aluminum coatings that give you 92% reflectivity, or you can upgrade to enhanced Aluminum and get 96% reflectivity.
I sent the primary and secondary mirrors to spectrum coatings in Florida to have the MaxR coating put on which gives you 98% reflectivity, and as far as I know the only place in the country where you can get that done for a non contract or military application.

I just had that done in March because i wanted to sell it and the mirrors coating needed attention so why not go all out. The coating and shipping cost 400, and i went through it so you don’t have to.

The white tube body is a bit scuffed and worn but the scope is solid and the mirrors are the best you can get. I haven’t even cleaned them they’re so new. I refurbished the bearings and everyone always comments on how smooth the motion is as you’re exploring around.
I also made and installed custom “Bob’s Knobs” for fast and easy collimating. I made a special no vibration fan mount for the mirrors temperature equalization too. That runs off a small lithium battery pack that would probably run for a good 20 hours if you let it.

It takes me about 5 minutes to set up with it completely dissembled. It really isn’t difficult, but it is big and the base mirror bucket without the stand is about 45 pounds. Completely assemble it is 128 pounds.

I’m not selling any eyepieces, just the scope.
