I selling my 28-inch f/4 mirror made by Steve Kennedy in 2004 that was part of his first batch of four. It has a beautiful figure, and the glass is in like-new condition. I am its original owner.

There are two ways to go with the coating - I can send it to Ostahowski Optics to get a new enhanced coating (for $2000.00) or apply a new spray silver coating (for $50.00) which is a process I've been doing for the past five years. The silver coating has a slightly higher overall reflectivity than enhanced aluminum when new, which is especially apparent in the red end of the visual spectrum, and star colors really pop. Nebular colors are easier to see too. It is not as durable as an enhanced aluminum coating, but that's the trade-off with silver.

Included is the 5-inch diagonal mirror (recoated by Ostahowski Optics in 2020 with his enhanced aluminum coating). The diagonal mirror holder, spider and the entire upper cage (without a focuser) are also available. I'll include my Astrosystems scope cover as well.

I'm selling this beautiful optic set because I just finished transforming the structure of my 28-inch scope into a 30-inch f/2.7. The reason for this slight upgrade in aperture is because the 30-inch is a meniscus mirror that's 5/8-inch thick and weighs only 38 pounds, which is much lighter than the 28-inch mirror. Lifting the 28-inch mirror has become problematic for my lower back.

I'm selling all the above for $12,500.00, but the price is negotiable and I'm willing to drive a few hundred miles from northwest Oregon to deliver in person. I have the original shipping container, and if shipping is the best option we'll factor that into the final cost.

If you're seriously interested, I'll supply more details and photos.
