I have nice 22" F 4.2 Starmaster Dob clone. I made this about 5-6 years ago.
The construction is excellent! Biscuitted construction with no edge plys showing or screws showing. I has west epoxy marine coating and multiple coats of special marine varish. If the bottom of the box was closed you could paddle it across the lake with no damage to the wood!
I have priced this offer very cheap because the mirror needs serious recoating.
I can get the mirror recoated by a known recoater for about 250.00. It would be enhanced too. I would be happy to send it in but you would have to pay for this in addition to my price
Goto system is Mels Bartels scope drive. I have specially machined Byers drive for both axis.
This could be upgrade easily to the new stand alone and/or pc driven servo drive system for 450-550 dollars with slight mechinical tweeking.
Scope will work fine without it and comes a working PC to run it in the field.
I original plane to do deep sky imaging with this monster but built and observatory and rare take to the field anymore.
It comes with:
F4.2 22" Pegasis mirror
2" Feathertouch focuser
2" Paracor
Telrad
18 point cell- tailgate like Starmaster with seperate storage box
Older laptop to run Bartels drive.
Dual Byers 6 " gears,
High resolution encoders
I will take 3800.00 if you don't want the Paracor, drives and encoders.
