I am offering my Takahashi Mewlon 250 reflector for sale. It is a 2001 model and has excellent optics. It is a proven performer and has been my primary planet imaging scope for many years with many images published. See Saturn and Mars images made with a webcam and a 2.5x Powermate (not included). In addition to imaging it is an outstanding visual instrument. Globular clusters look 3D. Condition is excellent with only a couple of miniscule paint chips you can see in one of the photos (every Tak I have owned has always had a couple of these in the paint). Back is removable for fast cool down.
Comes with the following:
Parker Case
Electric Focus Controller
Extension Cable for Controller
2 Magnetic Tube Weights (paint chips on one weight)
1-1/4" Visual Back
2" Visual Back
Losmandy Dovetail Plate with Adapter
SCT adapter (allows use of SCT accessories)
Tak 7 x 50 Finder with Illuminator (a joy to use)
Leather Cover
Also available separately for $280.00 is a hard to find Tak Mewlon Reducer TCW0100 in excellent condition (not shown - photo available on request). This is the one that can be used with a CCD camera or a DSLR camera. It has male Tak threads on one end and T-threads on the other end with metal covers. It reduces the F12 focal ratio to about F9.
I would be willing to drive up to about 300 miles to meet someone half way to keep from shipping.
