APM 180 f/9 APO Refractor

APM/TMB 180MM TRIPLET APOCHROMATIC REFRACTOR

After several years of use, I am offering my APM180mm f/9 APO for sale.   It's a wonderful telescope but due to my age and physical limitations, I’ve decided to down-size my scope collection.

I purchased this scope brand new from APM in May, 2001.   It has been on a Parallax GEM in my roll-off observatory or in its custom carry/shipping case since then.

Apart from minor rub marks from normal use and a chipped lens shade, there are no defects.

The view through the eyepiece is breathtaking, with very high contrast and no false color, even when viewing bright objects.  This scope is Ideal for planetary, moon and multiple star observing and the included flattener/focal reducer permits imaging of your favorite deep sky objects.

The substantial 4-inch focuser enables precise, stable adjustments without any shift, even when secured, and offers smooth rotation for enhanced usability.  

This scope weighs approximately 50 lbs.

Included in this package are a set of tube rings, full aperture solar filter  lens cap and Ricciardi field flattener/focal reducer.  In addition, a custom storage/shipping case is included.
