The Apomax 133mm f/12 is a rare scope that was made by Fred Mrozek, who worked at Astro-Physics and decided to make his own long focal length refractors. I believe he used FPL-52 but I cannot be 100% sure. Only 22-23 were made. The sale includes the OTA and rings that are pictured, not the mount. The case will be included for a local sale.
What I do know is that this scope has superb optics, equal to some of the best 5 inch refractors I have ever seen (TMB 130mm f/9.2 and Zeiss APQ 130/1000). The focuser is a 4” beautiful piece of machinery. The tube was painted in an auto shop (not the original paint) so the finish is smooth. The condition is excellent although the red plastic knobs are beginning to fade a bit with time.
This scope has an old case that works fine but would be inadequate for shipping because the focuser knobs have little cushion. Therefore, I am going to restrict this to local pickup for now but will consider shipping if there is interest outside of Southern California.
