Selling my Askar V to fund another rig — this is a fantastic scope that’s simply being reassigned, not retired for any fault of its own.
Cosmetic condition note: The tube shows some minor paint chips and surface scuffs from normal handling and field use — purely cosmetic and in no way affecting optical or mechanical performance. Optics are clean and clear; focuser is smooth. What you see is what you get — no surprises.
About the scope: The Askar V is a true quintuplet apochromat delivering flat, well-corrected stars edge to edge right out of the box — no field flattener needed. At f/5 it’s fast enough for narrowband and broadband imaging alike. An exceptional performer for both visual and imaging use.
