  • For Sale: TMB 203 f: 9 APO CNC Classic Optical Tube Assembly with tube weights, TMB Rings, TMB focuser, Feathertouch focuser, extension tube, caps.
    Plans, age and lifestyle change, so I may be selling my Wisconsin home, and with it, the rooftop observatory. 
  • I am second owner of this OTA, and am considering selling this amazing telescope.
  • Fantastic views of the moon, planets, DSO, clusters, double stars, etc., near perfection. 
  • I have correspndence between Thomas Back, Marcus Ludes, and myself verifying the optical quality of this instrument (.98 strehl, global wavefront variation of 1/12 wave p-v). I have photos of Saturn and Mars taken (by the original owner) with this scope. Copies of these photos and communications will be passed along with the scope to the buyer, new owner.
  • OTA is in excellent condition, the glass is clean and clear with a small amount of internal dust, as to be expected from a scope of this vintage. There are a few small imperfections in the paint, no dents. This scope has lived it's life on a permanent mount in an observatory.
  • Includes three (3) TMB precision machined rings, Losmandy dovetail plate, TMB heavy duty focuser, and Feathertouch 10:1 micro focuser.
  • 50 mm Finder scope and holder are included. 2" Quartz diaginol is included. There is no case or box.  House and Observatories NOT included!
  • I much prefer pick up, or meet up as opposed to shipping this telescope. I can meet in the Chicago-Milwaukee-Madison areas. 
  • I have a suitable, practically unused Losmandy Titan mount available. If you want to purchase mount with the OTA, we can do a packaged deal.
  • $16000. Serious offers will be considered. Payment preferred by Bank to bank wire transfer in advance.
  •  If by PayPal, buyer is responsible for PayPal fees and all taxes.
  • If buyer needs it to be shipped, we can work out arrangments for packing and insured shipping, at buyer's expense.
