Hello,
I am selling my almost new Orion 120mm F5 refractor. I bought the scope last December for a trip out West and it hasn't gotten any use since as I mostly image and have a couple of dobs for visual (I'm selling to fund some image processing software). I found quite a few galaxies and globular clusters while staying in New Mexico this past April on vacation and saw a surprising amount of detail for this sized scope. Scope performs great for its intended use on deep sky objects in dark skies especially with a 17mm Ethos and other premium 2 inch eyepieces. It's ok on the moon if you use the included aperture mask but I don't recommend it for planets. Optics are like new and I upgraded the stock focuser to the Orion 10:1 crayford which was a big improvement. The package also includes the rings and dovetail bar in the photo. The diagonal and eyepiece shown are not included.

New price for this package is currently:
Scope: $330
Upgraded focuser: $134 (on sale)
Rings: $33 (on sale)
Dovetail: $16 (on sale)
Total: $513

My price is $275 shipped to the 48 and no fee for using paypal (paypal is preferred).

Note: I did shorten the focuser drawtube on the upgraded focuser as it was too long from the factory and reduced the effective aperture of the scope (by about 15% I estimated). With the modification, it now makes full use of the scope's aperture. If you need the extra back focus for your eyepieces, you could add a 2 inch or 1.25 extension tube to add back some of the drawtube length. I use it with a 2 inch diagonal and 2 inch eyepieces (a 17mm Ethos, 35mm Panoptic, and a 9mm ES100) and all come to focus just fine.

Thanks for looking,

Tim
