Double-stack model — SMT90DS-30 (<0.5 Å, with a second large front etalon): original retail was about $6,799. Meade/Coronado SolarMax II 90mm H-Alpha Solar Telescope with BF30 blocking filter, original hard carrying case, and original accessories. There is minor cosmetic scratches around the clamp as shown in the picture, otherwise scope is pristine. The filter appears perfect. I don't think this was even set up more than a half dozen times and for the rest of the time was kept inside an air-conditioned home.
This is a premium dedicated solar telescope for safely observing and imaging the Sun in Hydrogen-Alpha light. The 90mm SolarMax II uses Meade/Coronado’s RichView tuning system and has an 800mm focal length (f/8.8). Its BF30 30mm blocking-filter configuration is especially desirable for solar imaging and provides a generous, unobstructed field of view.
Included are the original CEMAX solar eyepieces all in what appears new condition—12mm, 18mm, and 25mm—along with the original diagonal/adapters, Sol Ranger solar finder, mounting clamshell/rings, and fitted hard case. Please see photos for the full included set and condition.
Important: This is a specialized H-alpha solar instrument. It should only be used with all original solar-filter components correctly installed. No mount or tripod is included.
I am selling this on behalf of the estate of a good friend who passed away suddenly leaving behind 25 years of high end equipment. I have attempted to describe the item as accurately as possible, but have not actually used or tested it.
