TechnoSky 10" f/8 Ritchey-Chrétien Truss Astrograph – UNUSED – Upgraded 3" Focuser – Double Boxed

For sale is my TechnoSky 10-inch f/8 Ritchey-Chrétien carbon-fibre truss astrograph.

I purchased this telescope for an imaging project that ultimately never materialised. It has therefore never been put into service and remains in genuinely pristine, unused condition.

This is the substantial open-truss version of the 10-inch Ritchey-Chrétien, designed primarily for serious deep-sky astrophotography. It has a 254mm aperture, 2000mm focal length and f/8 optical system.

The telescope has also been fitted with an upgraded Astrograph 3.0-inch rack-and-pinion focuser with M117 connection.

OPTICAL AND MECHANICAL SPECIFICATION

• 254mm / 10-inch aperture

• 2000mm focal length

• f/8 focal ratio

• True Ritchey-Chrétien optical design

• Carbon-fibre open-truss construction

• Low-expansion quartz primary and secondary mirrors

• High-reflectivity dielectric mirror coatings

• Fixed primary-mirror design

• Dual Losmandy-format mounting plates

• Approximate OTA weight: 15kg

• Large central baffle system

• Collimatable optical system

• Designed primarily as a serious deep-sky astrograph

The open carbon-fibre truss construction provides a very rigid structure while allowing the optical system to reach thermal equilibrium more readily than a conventional closed tube.

UPGRADED ASTROGRAPH 3.0-INCH FOCUSER

This telescope has been fitted with an Astrograph 3.0-inch rack-and-pinion focuser with a direct M117 connection.

This is a substantial upgrade over the standard focuser and provides a considerably more robust platform for larger cooled astronomy cameras and serious imaging trains.

It includes fine-focus adjustment and is rated to carry imaging equipment weighing up to approximately 6kg.

CONDITION

The telescope is unused and in exceptional condition.

It was purchased for an imaging project but was never actually put into service. The carbon-fibre truss tubes, mechanical structure, mounting plates, focuser and optical surfaces are all in superb condition.

Detailed photographs of the actual telescope are included, with views through the optical tube and close photographs of the primary mirror so prospective buyers can assess its condition.

This is not an extensively used observatory telescope being described as “excellent”. It has simply spent its life carefully stored in its box rather than being used.

I am selling because I am rationalising my astronomy equipment and there is little point in such a capable instrument continuing to sit unused.

ORIGINAL DOUBLE PACKAGING

Importantly for a telescope of this size, I still have the original double-cardboard shipping boxes and protective internal packaging.

The telescope can therefore be packed in essentially the manner intended for transportation, making fully insured courier delivery a realistic option.

Collection is nevertheless very welcome given the size and value of the instrument.

INCLUDED

• TechnoSky 10" f/8 Ritchey-Chrétien carbon-fibre truss OTA

• Astrograph 3.0" rack-and-pinion focuser

• Associated fittings as pictured

• Original double-cardboard shipping boxes

• Original protective internal packaging

The photographs form part of the description and show the actual telescope being sold.

I am happy to provide further detailed photographs or answer technical questions from serious prospective buyers.
