The Pentax 100 SDUF II APO refractor issuper-portable, super-fast telescope performs beautifully when used visually or as an instrument for imaging. Weighing only 8.8 lbs (14 lbs with included aluminum case!) and measuring less than 20" in length, the Pentax 100 SDUF II can travel with you anywhere at a moment's notice.

The 4-element, 2-group design of the Pentax 100 SDUF II was created to produce excellent image quality over the entire field of view. The front element in the first doublet is made of SD glass, and a two-lens integrated corrector contributes to a flat field that is especially noticed (and appreciated!) when used photographically. This configuration, along with the addition of state-of-the-art internal baffling, yields images of excellent contrast and detail, with great color correction, even at high magnifications. Special multi-coatings designed to increase the transmission of astronomical wave lengths are used on all Pentax APO telescopes.

The drawtube has an inside diameter of 88mm, and fully illuminates 6 X 4.5 format with ease. The helical focuser includes a scale that allows precision focus to 0.02mm or better with a large knurled ring that fits the hand comfortably.
