I just ran Spybot search and destroy clicked on favorites then Astromart. I looked quickly in two forums then re-ran Spybot and found 5 entries of DSO exploit. This is not good.

Ed,

DSO Exploit is actually a hole in MSIE. Spy Bot will not remove it and will continue to report it unless you use the advanced features and tell Spy Bot to ignore it. IF you have the latest Microsoft security patches for MSIE it is not a problem and has been fixed. IF you do a google search for DSO Exploit you will find a lot of information about it. It is not anything from Astromart. (Unless Herb and Bill Gates are the same person....ummmm....I wonder...)

Hope that helps.

Pete,

Do not confuse SpyBot or Adaware with virus scanning software. They are two different products. SpyBot and Adaware are quite effective at locating and removing "spy ware" or items that allow tracking vulnerabilities in your system, but they are not designed to scan for Viruses like McAfee, Norton, or any of the other virus protection programs. They are nice additions to your regular virus scanning software, but will not replace it.

Hope that helps,

Just curious, Ed. Do you have version 1.3 Spybot? I just found that there is a new version. I'd been running 1.2 for quite awhile.
