I just wanted to post about an experience that I just had selling my AT10RC. Had a buyer from NJ who showed lots of interest.
Warning #1 Checked his profile, no posts, no sales, no auctions, etc.
Warning #2 The individual agreed to purchase and meet in a Panera parking lot in a city within driving distance. He even asked if I had any mounts to sell along with the scope. (Like someone is going to buy a 10" astrograph who doesn't even have suitable mount already)
Warning #3 When I repeatedly requested that I invoice him via Paypal so he and I could both have a receipt he kept trying to pay by Paypal Friends and Family.
(Note, if you accept payment by PP Friends and Family you have no recourse if he tells Paypal that he never authorized the payment...you lose)
Warning #4 He offered to meet me with cash for the payment.
I terminated the transaction with this individual, but I bet he's scammed a few others with this routine.
I can't reveal his full name but he does live in Edison, NJ and his initials are MZ.
