DIY bino question-Roland, Harry, etc...

I'm contnuing work on my homemade bino, and now
that I know it works (i.e. images merge, focus
together, etc...), I want to tweak it for best
performance.

Is it recommended that I blacken the edges of
the prisms? Or, if I line the inside of the unit
with the darkest black velvet, will that be good
enough? Or just leave it as is?

What about cleaning the prism surfaces? I've already
cleaned them with a Nikon lens pen. Good enough?

Any other advice, from anyone, would be appreciated.

Hi Jim,

You may have mentioned this before, but what size prisms did you use in your binoviewer?
