Orion is having a sale at the moment on their Sirius plossl eyepieces. Does anyone have any thoughts on using the 32mm's for low-power binoviewing? The Excelsis web site gives them fairly high marks. At $37.40 each, they're a steal.

Ed,

Great value. I used a pair of 32mm GTO plossls and 25mm Sirius plossls and they were very good. The 32mm's will give you your widest TFOV. At that price, you will have no problem recouping most of your money if you upgrade later on.

Clear skies,

Hi Ed,

Like Tom, I too use a pair 0f 32mm GTO Plossls. I use them in Blacknights and have found them to be very good. In my 9.25 SCT in conjunction with a Siebert .5 focal reducer I can fit the entire Double Cluster into the FOV with room to spare. Their eye relief is on the long side so I find that I occasionally lose the view.

Clear Skies,

Steve
