1.25" Coma Correctors?

Hello, I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know if somebody manufactures an 1.25" sized coma corrector. I've got one of those 5.1" f/5 reflectors that does a fine job with delivering wide field views, except the coma around the edge of the field is distracting. I'm really not interested in replacing the scopes' focuser with a two inch model. I think I remember Televue selling one many years ago, but I haven't seen any available in recent years. Thanks to anyone in advance for their help. Dave Sewell

Televue made one, but it was discontinued. They do come up for sale here from time to time.

Try calling Denkmeier. Their 1.25" newtonina OCS should work well as a coma corrector. I used their 2" OCS with my dob and it worked great. I'm not sure which adapters you would need, but Denkmeier should be able to help you with this.

Best wishes,

Randy

I happen to have both one of those 5.1 inch F5 Newtonians from Orion as well as a 1.25 inch Paracorr. I find the edge view acceptable without the Paracorr but of course better with it.

The 1.25 inchers seem to be quite rare, I read somewhere that there were only about 50 of em made.

My scope has a 2 inch focuser, definite a nice feature, I would just go ahead and upgrade to the 2 inch focuser and then deal with the coma...
