Hi All
What is the advantage of using a 2" diagonal over a 1.25" diagonal in a 80mm F7.5 scope other than being able to use 2" eyepieces?

It will support heavier accessories such as a TEC EP turret or binoviewer.

With shorter focal length EP's, you will never bring the edges of the mirror into play optically, and that is where most of the distortions occur.

It will cover the format of a 35mm camera and a 1.25" diagonal will not.
