Where does one find the above mount capable of carrying a 4" refractor thats about 38" long and weighs 8.0#? I have been told that Vixen has one called a "Custom D", but its not available in this country. Any thoughts anyone?

I know this will not work for your application but...
Some Eq mounts, the EQ-1 in particular, will allow the polar axis to be shifted far enough (0 or 90 degrees either way you want to look at it) so that they can be used in the ALT-AZ mode. Used with the standard slow motion controls this works quite nicely.
