Does anyone have any experience with the Antares 2" Silver coated 98% diagonal? Any opinions would be welcome.

William,
If you're talking about one of the collimatable refractor diagonals I bought one to use until my 2" diagonal finally showed up from Burgess Optical. It looks and feels very nice but I don't think the Burgess 1026 was a very good test for it. I plan to compare it with a 2" Televue (came with a Pronto) and keep the better one. I'll let you know. Clear skies.

I tried to order one, but they were out of stock.
The distributor told me the factory is not happy
with the coatings, and they are working some
issues.
I think it is difficult to make a good silver
coating. The metal is fairly reactive, so it must
be over-coated with a protective layer, and the
protective layer must perfect -- it must have no
pinholes.
