Anyone have a xt12i and use starry night with it?

I'm thinking about purchasing a orion xt12i dob. I have starry night pro v6.04 and want to use my laptop in conjunction with my scope. Do I need to purchase the object locator if I want to do this or can I just navigate the scope manually using starry night?

I have an Orion XT12i, the object locator and Starry Night on my laptop. In order to connect the laptop to the scope you will need the object locator. There are no provisions to directly connect the laptop to the setting circles on the scope. The connection between the laptop and the object locator requires an RS232 cable Orion also sells.
