AP is for astronomy or speculation?

I was wondering does anybody actually look through or photographs through an AP telescope? I far as I can tell most of the AP telescopes offered on the clasifieds are mint telescopes that never left their cases and as far as I can tell were purchased for the sole purpose of resaling them at a later date. As long as people are willing to pay premiums on the resale price or 30% to 100% people will continue to speculate on the AP refractor. It's a shame that so many of those fantastic telescopes become trading cards instead of amazing intruments for gaze at the sky.
My 2 cents worth

I think the days of speculation are coming to an end. It will take some time for that waiting list to dwindle, but it will happen. I see some highend refractors going for muchless here on Astromart than a year ago. There are also, many more entrants in to the market - TMB etc. - with good abvailability schedules and equal performance.

This hobby/buisness is not immune to the laws of supply and demand. More entrants and better competitive products mean lower prices. AP is smart enough to know this, else they'd be increasing there prices until the waiting list disappered. Any way, I would not take my chances on a AP Speculative bet these days.
