Hello everyone. New here, but thought I'd make my first post a good one. I have just begun acquiring equipment for my entry into astrophotography, and after making a great deal on a CGEM DX, I was in search of an AT65EDQ quadruplet Apo.
Seemed they were all out of stock and backordred everywhere, so I sent Astro-Tech an email enquiry this morning. Mike Bieler himself responded within minutes, with GREAT news:
Me: Can you tell me a little about what's going on with the company in general, product development news, in particular as it pertains to the 65EDQ and the rumored 110EDQ?
MB: The 65EDQs are due here in two days. They come in every three months on a production schedule. When that batch sells out, we simply have to wait for the next batch.
Me: Very good news, can you elaborate on the timeline of your various distributors receiving their stock? Do you believe the overall order size was sufficient to cover all back orders and leave a few left over for new purchasers who have yet to place their order?
MB: It should fill backorders and leave some for stock. I understand the shipment has arrived at the local airport and cleared customs. We now expect it today or Monday. That would put them in the hands of dealers in about 10 days or so.
I suspect more than a couple people will be happy to hear this. I'll be getting my order in ASAP ;-)
