Hi,

I posted this question to QCUAIG but I also thought the folks here would be very knowledgeable. I'm looking to get a barlow to use with my webcam (no ep)and 8" f/10 SCT. I'm considering the Orion shorty Plus (2X), Orion Trimag (3X), and the UO 2.8 Klee. I've read the positive posts about the Shorty Plus and the Klee, but have not seen anything about the Tri-Mag barlow. I cannot afford to get a Powermate but want to get a good barlow that will get me a decent image scale for the webacam. According to Sky and Telescope I'll need to get between f/20 and f/40. Any thoughts?

The Klee is a very good barlow and I recommend it. I've been considering a Powermate off and on, but the Klee has proved to be such a good barlow, I keep putting off the purchase.

There are 10^11 stars in the galaxy. That used to be a huge number. But it's only a hundred billion. It's less than the national deficit! We used to call them astronomical numbers. Now we should call them economical numbers.
