I'd like to upgrade from my Tasco 7x35mm binoculars to 7x50mm. I'd like it to have a 1/4"-20 hole for mounting to a tripod. Please recommend the cheapest ones with these specs that you'd consider "usable".

Look into the Orion Worldview binoculars. They do not come in 7x50's though. Only 8x40, 10x50, and 12x50. About $40. I just received the 10x50's and am very impressed with the quality. They do have threads for tripod mounting. Check them out at telescope.com

It wouldn't do to have all the people retpye all the good stuff they've posted on binocs to here in the equipment forum. There are a number of threads on best 7x's best 10x's and best bang for buck already posted down in the BINOCULAR FORUM. Happy reading. edz
