Books on Optics

Can anyone suggest a good book or two that explains the optics of telescopes and eyepieces? I am looking for something with enough detail to explain how the corrector of an SCT works, the difference between a classical cassegrain and an SCT, etc. but without a thousand equations that I cannot possibly understand. I also would like to better understand how eyepieces actually work and how the light moves and bends as it travels through the different elements.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Richard,
Telescope Optics is a manual that covers SCT, classical cassegrain systems and others. It's described on the Willman Bell website and has updated software available as well.
