I was very into Astronomy as a kid and I'm looking to get back into it. After reading a bunch of advice online, I'm between the Celestron C102HD refractor and Orion XT8 Dob as a first new scope (as a kid I had a cheap 60mm refractor). Given that seeing conditions where I live (near LA) are not great, and I plan to do most my observing from home, should I lean a certain way on the decision?
C102HD or Orion XT8 Dob?

I have a Discovery Scope, I got it from OPT, they stock most of them, so if you decide to go that way, you wont have to wait. http://www.optcorp.com/index.asp
Also, check this link out! Its the Orion 1OXT, with a different name on it, for 499!!! I wish I had the money!
Click on the picture to enlarge it.

Hope that helps!

PS-I have a 6 inch scope, and it's not enough aperture!
