my C11 - few month old- hit the floor. Fortunately mainloss is covered by insurance as it happened not to me. The Schmidt corrector is broken. No further visible damages. I heard this is a total-loss. Has anyone experience with broken Schmidt-correctors?

I really appreciate your help. Maybe someone can even help me with spares ?

Thanks + regards Arno Becker

I believe if you send it back to Celestron, they will fix it for you.

Somewhere on the web I saw a guy who was using a Fastar lens assy on his C8 (replaces the secondary) and he hit it on (I think) a wooden beam in his observator and smashed the corrector - Celestron fixed that for him, no problem.

Good luck

i learned - also from direct mails - that the damage can be repaired for less $900 incl. optical bench collimation.
It needs the serial number of the Schmidt-corrector. With this number Celestron can find a new Schmidt+secondary according to their records. Lets cross fingers.

Thank you guys for y help.
