There have been plenty of people (myself included) who have connected telescopes of various sizes to cameras and taken photos, but who has gone the other way: connected an eyepiece to a telephoto camera lens, and how did you do it?

I've done it. They make for nice, short telescopes. THe way to do it is to get an adapter that has a bayonet mount for your camera lens on the front, and a standard 1.25 hole in the back for your eyepiece. They are available for the CCD folk who often use standard camera lenses for wide fields.

For non-demanding applications, you can also make one from the back cap of a lens (to substitute for the bayonet mount) and appropriately sized or drilled chunks of plastic, wood, or aluminum, or plumbing fixtures-----and lots of epoxy.
