I just received this old telescope from a neighbor - anyone know anything about it? I did a google search and did not come up with anything. It is from pre- 8" SCT days.

Hi Gil,
That is the guide scope that was offered for the Celestron C10. The tanget coupler attaches to points on the top and rear of the rear cell of the larger scope and allowed fine aiming to select a guide star after the main scope was aligned for a photo.
I have a C10 from 1965 down here in San Diego that is missing the guidescope so PM me if you want to part with it.

I am attaching a picture of my C-10 with the C-4 guidescope attached. Interesting little scopes- I had to completely disassemble mine to work on the focuser and make sure everything was aligned for collimation. Let me know if you have any questions about the scopes internal workings.
