I posted this under "Refractors" but maybe "Equipment Talk" is more appropriate. Need suggestions on how to convert this refractor to using 2" eyepieces in lieu of 1/-1/4". Also how to adapt this refractor to a TeleVue TelePod Panoramic Mount? It is on a Super Polaris Equitorial Mount now.

Not sure which 4" refractor version you have.
If its a Synta-made Chinese version, you can just
buy the 2" Synta focusser from some place like
handsonoptics.com
http://www.handsonoptics.com/astronomy/sky_anteres/sky_anteres.html
part "FOC2R" or find one used here on
Astromart for maybe $40.
If you've got a Celestron / Vixen, you can buy
the Vixen 2" focusser from a Vixen dealer. But it
will be pricy like $300. (Maybe you could make the
Synta version fit -- worth a try.)
TeleVue makes a plate which adapts their
refractors onto the Super Polaris. You should
be able to use the same plate to put your
scope on a TeleVue mount -- it will already
have the right hole patterns. Might need
to get some different (longer) screws and nuts
at the local hardware store.
