Is it true that the CGE mount doesn't track across the meridian? So for astrophotography should I stick only with the G11?

Roo,
The G-11 will track until the limit is reached. The limits are user adjustable, so you can tune them to your mount and scope setup. I can track for 4.5-5 hours, no problem, depending on where I begin to track of course. Then a Meridian flip is required if you need more time.
As far as I know, the CGE does have user programmable limits too. But I do not own one, so I will let someone else answer that one.
