Greetings all,

Anybody notice Cloudynights is becoming a pay site. I certainly understand the cost of operating the site, but I thought all the sponsors would be able to cover the cost.

Oh well. Don't know that I am going to want to pay for the information, but I do hope they do well.

I also hope people continue to post their comparisons and equipment assessments somewhere where amateurs don't have to pay to get access.

Take care,
john

I joined yesterday. I think it is a worthwhile service...and cheap to boot!

There are 10^11 stars in the galaxy. That used to be a huge number. But it's only a hundred billion. It's less than the national deficit! We used to call them astronomical numbers. Now we should call them economical numbers.

I think the investment in equipment will be largely for testing equipment, not product to be reviewed. The parties involved are committed to bringing a new level of objectivity to product review. You can't do that on a shoe-string budget.
