comments on the orion 120ST refractor

I recently bought the 120ST. I think it's a very nice telescope for the price. However my telescope came with a couple of major problems. The first is the expected chromatic aberation of very bright objects (probably a little worse than I expected). The second regards the Focuser: the pinnion was bent out of shape and a new one is being sent to me and more problematic for a person that buys it as his first scope and doesn't have a focuser extender; the scope will not focus, the focuser is simply too short. Wondering if anyone else has had the same problems with the focuser on this scope?
thanks

What eyepieces are you using? Are you using the diagonal? I had a chance to view with the SkyWatcher version of that scope at Chiefland last year, and under great skies with a 35mm Panoptic, the Veil nebula, NA and Pelican Nebula were great, without filters. It's not a planetary or lunar scope, so don't even expect it to look decent at higher mags, except for faint fuzzies. We did look at M-81/82 also and remember it to be a very nice contrasty view.
