Confusion: Off-axis guiding or Piggyback OTA??

Ok I've posted before on this and I have yet to get a difinitive answer so I'll try again.
My setup is a C6-RGT (on CG5-GT mount). I plan on autoguiding with a webcam and MAYBE (dollars permitting) with an autoguider (ST4).
Now, my questions:
1) is the CG5-GT good enough to hold an 80+ mm OTA on it plus accessories?
2) do guide stars show up BETTER with OAG or better with a piggybacked refractor??
3) given autoguiding with a webcam, which would be better?
4) is the C6-R focuser assembly up to the task of utilizing an OAG??

Someone please help me before I spend needless dollars on the wrong thing. lol

Clear skies!

Guide stars show a whole lot better in It is a whole lot easier to use a guidescope than an off axis guider. IN an off axis guider, by definition, your are using the edge of the field, and there may be no convenient stars there for you. WIth a refractor, it should be fine. With a Newt (to a minor degree) or an SCT, you have to be a lot more careful about image shift. Using a refractor as a guide scope with an SCT you may get image shift.

I'm not really familiar with the rest of your terms, so, I'll stay out of that part of the conversation.

Thanks... looks as if a guidescope is still the way to go. Too bad it makes the whole setup really huge.
