In anycase, I was looking to found some easy way to store my field tripod ad wedge so that it did not fall on anything else (as they tend to do unless splayed open... in which case they take up lots of space) and I tied to fit the tripod and wedge into my hard Golf case and.....fit perfectly!
So now, with a bit of padding to keep things from clanging around, I have a convenient storage case and convenient, wheeled carry case as well.
Go figure.
