Interested for SCT or dob use if these filters work/help and if so, any recommendations for manufactuers? Thanks in advance. (have 8"SCT and 10"Dob)

My favorite filter is the Lumicon O-III; it gives very
dramatic results on emission line nebula. Their
"Deep Sky" filter gives some improvement on all types
of objects, but is less dramatic than O-III.
I've not tried other brands of filters. - John B.

Narrowband and line filters do indeed work but don't expect miracles from them. Paradoxically filters often show the most improvement on objects under dark skies. But if you want a great view of the Cygnus Loop or the Horsehead Nebula LPR/nebula(r) are the definitely the way to go.

See http://www.cloudynights.com/accessories/filters.htm and http://www.cloudynights.com/howto/filters.htm for further information.
