D&G vs Meade APO ???

I'm considering a 5" refractor:

Looking at a 5" D&G F/12 vs. 5" Meade ED APO

Does anyone have experience with both of these
scopes?

Without wishing to knock Meade, I must say that the views through a D&G 5" f/12 are beautiful. The mechanics are excellent. It's a pretty big tube though.

I have a 127 ed the color correction is excellent. The trick is proper collimation. I can't comment on the D&G since I have never observed through one but to get same color collection you would be looking at a lot bigger (F12-15 VS F9.3)scope and different mounting requirements. See Meade Refractor group in yahoo forum . See some of the reviews on cloudynights.com
