Hi everyone,
I am wondering about the difference between an APO (seemingly a majority pick for the pinnacle of scopes) and a less expensive achromatic (I believe that's the correct term). From reading posts I gather that an APO has less "false color" and more refined optics (glass cut to a more exacting standard?) as one would expect from something of that cost. However, my grasp is rather vague. What exactly is the difference? Both in perfomance and manufacturing? In terms of performance what does an APO gove that others don't. Do APOs simply have better cut glass, or a different glass, or special coatings?
Thanks
Tony
