I'm progressing along with my dog walking scope. It's a 13 inches long including the focuser and 5.5 inches tall with a 25mm eyepiece installed. It uses a 50mm surplus military spotting scope objective, a bit of steel tubing, an inexpensive 1.25 inch focuser, and for now the diagonal from my Observer 70. All I need to do now is test it with some shorter focal length eyepieces, drill some holes to permanently mount my focuser, install some baffling and figure out how I'm going to mount it. Handheld at about 8x magnification with a 25mm Explorer II, I found that it delivered pretty sharp images of the moon without really needing a moon filter. It was also easy to carry in one hand with a leash in the other. Does anybody have any dirt cheap mount ideas? I'm thinking about monopods or mini-tripods?

I have several telescopes, but none are semi-APO, APO, or in anyway valuable.
